Job description

Overview

Starting Pay of $28.90/Hour!

Responsible for operating industrial equipment and forklift trucks to perform all material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into trailers. May work in refrigerated or frozen temperatures. This is a 2nd shift position. (Monday - Thursday, 4pm - 2am)

Responsibilities
  • Performs operation and safety checks on equipment before use. Completes safety check on equipment prior to usage including but not limited to battery, brakes, lift controls, and computer.
  • Familiarizes self with productive capacity of machines or loading schedule of shipping services to assure prompt delivery of required items to proper destination, so that equipment does not shut down.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts throughout the warehouse, verifying the accuracy of inventory records against physical counts.
  • Accurately record cycle count data, including discrepancies and adjustments, in the inventory management system.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Uses snips to open loads, removes strapping and wrapping and safely disposes in designated containers and areas. Places protective materials around load and uses hand or automatic strapping equipment to secure loads for final shipment to customers.
  • Removes empty skids and stacks skids in designated areas.
  • Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull, load, and move merchandise and all documents specific to each type of merchandise.
  • Completes cleaning duties at the end of designated shift
  • Moves or lifts up to 75 lbs.
  • Required to operate labeling equipment when needed.
  • Required to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts etc.
  • Employees shall follow all GMP & Food safety requirements.
  • Must be able to meet production standards of quota required.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with warehouse and/or distribution facility.
  • Ability to contribute to the team as an effective team player.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic knowledge of computer functions on a keyboard.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous job experience as a forklift operator preferred.
  • Experience in the distribution industry a plus.
  • Stand-up forklift and motorized pallete jack experience is preferred.
Working Conditions/Environment

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate, listen, stand, lift, bend, crouch/kneel, and walk throughout their shift. Ascending and/or descending from the lift throughout the shift will be constant and routine. The employee is routinely required to reach and handle, seize, hold, or grasp product, or to operate objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to move or lift up to 75 lbs.The work environment may contain temperature extremes; in some cases, working in environments below freezing temperatures.
