Job summary

Kforce Inc. in Phoenix, AZ seeks a VP of Information Security to lead its enterprise cybersecurity strategy and organization in a hybrid role.

The role requires executive leadership, strong technical cybersecurity expertise, and the ability to communicate risk to executives and boards. The VP will oversee security strategy, operations, risk management, architecture, incident response, and team development, partnering across technology, compliance, legal, risk and business leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Progressive leadership experience in enterprise information security.
• Experience building, scaling, or maturing cybersecurity programs and teams.
• Leadership experience within regulated industries, especially financial services.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture, cloud security, incident response, IAM, data protection, and application security.
• Cloud security experience across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001.
• Proven track record leading significant cybersecurity incidents.
• Ability to communicate technical risk effectively to executives, boards, auditors, and regulators.
• Experience managing cybersecurity budgets, vendors, and security service providers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise information security strategy.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary cybersecurity organization.
• Oversee security engineering, operations, incident response, IAM, data protection, vulnerability management, and third-party risk.
• Establish security architecture across cloud, infrastructure, networks, endpoints, SaaS, and applications.
• Lead major cybersecurity incidents and executive response efforts.
• Integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with Technology, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Audit, Privacy, and business leadership.
• Manage cybersecurity budgets, vendors, and managed security services.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and executive/board security reporting.
• Address emerging risks, including AI and generative AI security.
