Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company’s Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a Hybrid Utility Designer 2 to plan, design, and inspect utility assets. The role blends remote design work with 1–3 days of on-site duties across Central and Southern Ohio, supported by a company vehicle or travel reimbursement.

You will use CAD/Outside Plant tools, PLA software, and standard office apps to develop plans, estimates, and records while collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must read, understand and apply engineering construction standards to design projects.
• Experience with CAD/Outside Plant design tools is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Organize proposals using client software.
• Schedule on-site meetings with homeowners within AES footprint.
• Maintain records of utility infrastructure and safety risks.
• Design aerial and underground utilities compliant with AES standards.
• Create prints and cost estimates using client software.
• Manage permitting processes and document systems.
• Travel 1–3 days per week for on-site duties.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for optimal design solutions.
