Job summary

The Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC) of the State of Connecticut in New Britain seeks a Utilities Principal Finance Specialist to provide financial and technical expertise in regulating electric, gas, water utilities and other energy providers. The role reports to the Supervisor of Utility Financial Analysis and Consumer Counsel and leads technical staff on complex analyses.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of professional experience in business, finance or quantitative analysis.
• Two (2) years of the General Experience must have involved complex financial analysis.
• Substitutions: college training may be substituted for the General Experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs financial analyses including rate of return analyses and cost of capital evaluations.
• Evaluates financial operations and governance of utilities and related entities.
• Develops and presents reports and testimony on financial matters to regulatory bodies.
• Directs development of computerized financial models and data analyses.
