Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) Buffalo Regional Office seeks an experienced trial attorney to represent the state and its agencies in Court of Claims and other actions. Candidates must have at least three years of solid trial experience and be ready to manage a large caseload with strong research and advocacy.

Applicants must reside in New York state, be admitted to practice in NY, and be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

• At least three years of solid trial experience in relevant litigation.
• Residency in New York state or intent to become a resident.
• Admitted to practice law in New York.
• U.S. citizen per Public Officers Law.
• Two-year commitment upon hire.

Responsabilités

• Represent the state in Court of Claims in a wide range of litigation.
• Defend state employees in tort actions in State Supreme Court.
• Defend state employees in federal court under 42 U.S.C. §1983.
• Manage a large caseload with strong research and advocacy.
