Job summary

Freese and Nichols, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Project Manager in Austin or San Antonio, TX. The role leads transportation projects for public clients, manages budgets and schedules, and mentors junior engineers. A TX PE or eligibility within 6 months is required.

You will collaborate with a growing team, participate in business development, and deliver high-quality design and analysis for roadway and drainage systems. A hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or comparable engineering or applied science degree).
• 6+ years of experience in roadway design.
• 2+ years of progressive project management experience.
• Texas Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed in Texas within 6 months).
• Strong technical skills in roadway and drainage design.
• Experience with MicroStation and Open Roads/Open Roads Designer.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects with client communication, deadlines, deliverables, and budgets.
• Mentor and train junior engineers.
• Support business development to grow transportation practice.
• Lead analysis, design, and preparation of plans, specs, estimates, and reports.
• Cultivate strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
