Job summary

Lindt & Sprüngli (North America) Inc. is seeking a Transportation Planner in Kansas City to oversee day-to-day load planning across intermodal, truckload, and LTL modes, coordinating with customer service, plants/DCs, and carriers.

This role requires strong Excel skills, a degree or equivalent experience, and a hands-on approach to optimize costs, service, and on-time delivery within a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in consumer-packaged goods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Knowledge of refrigerated and LTL transportation.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day load planning across intermodal, truckload and LTL modes.
• Review routing and freight costs to optimize service and cost.
• Determine carrier assignments for refrigerated freight and adjust dates as needed.
• Communicate with customer service, plants/DCs, and carriers to minimize delays.
• Monitor carrier performance and approve upcharges when needed.
• Utilize TMS for scheduling, reporting and analytics.
