Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Transportation Planner or Senior Transportation Planner to support the multi-modal roadway system and guide transportation investments. You will coordinate Transportation & Engineering, Road & Bridge, and Planning & Zoning divisions, develop plans, and respond to citizen inquiries.

The role includes coordinating development reviews, attending Planning Engineering Meetings, and ensuring implementation of design criteria across applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban planning, engineering or related field.
Three years of transportation planning experience (Senior requires five).
AICP Certification preferred.
Valid Colorado driver’s license required for positions driving county business.

Responsibilities

Coordinate transportation planning across divisions and agencies.
Review site development plans and transportation studies for conformance with policies.
Create GIS-based maps and integrate with the County’s GIS efforts.
Provide information and assistance to schools and public on transportation plans.
