Job summary

VCU is seeking a Transfer Coordinator to oversee the NEXT STEP Transfer Maps, mentor community college students, and coordinate events and outreach. The role emphasizes collaboration across campus and with partner institutions to support academic and career development for NEXT STEP participants.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule up to 40% and requires strong communication, organizational, and program-management skills. A bachelor’s degree is required, with a master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage time, provide clear direction, and establish priorities.
• Ability to work well with others across campus and partner institutions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Google applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage the annual curriculum review process for NEXT STEP Transfer Maps (40%).
• Provide mentorship and transition support for community college students in NEXT STEP (25%).
• Plan and facilitate community-building events and campus tours for NEXT STEP students (25%).
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and partner schools.
