Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise seeks a Thermal/Mechanical Engineering Intern to help design, analyze, test and validate cooling for next‑gen server hardware. You will work with a multidisciplinary team across mechanical, thermal, electrical and firmware engineers on air and liquid cooling concepts.

You will gain hands‑on experience in wiring, CAD, CFD/FEA, lab testing and engineering documentation within a hybrid schedule that includes two days per week in an HPE office.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or enrolled in a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering degree.
• Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to practical lab problems.
• Experience with CAD, thermal modeling or CFD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical and thermal development of rack-mount servers.
• Assist with heat sinks, fans, ducts, cold plates and brackets design.
• Build and instrument server prototypes for testing.
• Measure temperatures, airflow, pressure, and environmental conditions in lab.
• Run documented test plans and summarize results in reports.
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
