Job summary

Sallie Mae is seeking a Technology Operations Engineer I to support and optimize our technology systems and infrastructure. You will assist in implementing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, networks, and telecom components to keep services reliable for students and staff.

You will respond to incidents and service requests with timely technical support, participate in projects, and help create documentation and procedures that ensure secure, consistent operations.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of technology infrastructure components (hardware, software, networks, telecommunications).
• Familiarity with ITIL and IT service management basics.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear, effective written and verbal communication.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Basic knowledge of project management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing, configuring, and maintaining technology systems and networks.
• Respond to incidents and service requests with timely technical support.
• Support technology projects, including testing, documentation, and user training.
• Help develop and enforce operations procedures for secure, consistent operations.
• Assist with technology inventory management and asset tracking.
• Document system configurations and troubleshooting guides.
