Weber Blackstone is seeking a Technical Communications Designer in Palatine, IL. The role focuses on creating compliant technical documents for Weber Blackstone products, collaborating across Product Development, Compliance, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales, and ensuring language accuracy for multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; four-year college or university.
• 0-3 years of experience in technical design, technical writing, graphic design or related field.
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Excellent layout and typography skills.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Be able to prioritize and balance multiple projects.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry and working in a procedure-intensive department.

Responsibilities

• Produce user manuals, assembly guides, replacement part instructions, and operation graphics that comply with regulations and country language requirements.
• Coordinate with regulatory to organize statements, warnings, and warranty information for all markets.
• Contribute to the technical writing process for concept development.
• Keep up to date with product components and revisions.
• Layout and produce documents using Adobe CC on Mac.
• Test and analyze assembly and user instructions; provide feedback for clarity.
• Create and inspect PDF final files for quality and release for print.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, R&D and Engineering to ensure documentation aligns with the product.
