Job summary

Jobot seeks a Tax Manager to lead engagements, mentor staff, and advise clients on complex tax matters. The role is based out of Frederick, MD, Westminster, MD, or Hanover, PA with a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• CPA required; EA considered for the right candidate.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; advanced degree a plus.
• 6-10 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in public accounting.
• Proficiency with tax software (CCH Axcess, Thomson Reuters UltraTax, or similar) highly desirable.
• Strong technical knowledge across corporate, pass-through, and individual tax matters.
• Comfortable working independently, with EST availability preferred for remote candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic tax planning guidance, identifying savings opportunities and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Research and analyze complex tax issues, staying current on regulatory changes to guide clients accurately
• Review and oversee tax preparation work for precision and compliance
• Advise on tax matters facing privately held corporations, S corporations, and partnerships, including state tax issues
• Apply strong knowledge of individual tax returns and how corporate and owner-level tax regulations interact
• Lead and mentor engagement teams, supporting staff development
