Job summary

Lucida Tax + Accounting Solutions is seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Manager in Madison, WI, with strong tax preparation and client advisory skills. The role includes managing a portfolio of business and individual tax work, providing planning and guidance, and conducting ongoing tax research.

The position requires leadership of staff, supervision of returns, and building client relationships while staying current with tax law changes and firmwide best practices.

Qualifications

• 8 busy tax seasons with experience in preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
• Experience with Thomson Reuters suite preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook
• Excellent communication with staff and clients
• Ability to lead and develop junior staff
• Attention to detail and organization
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for business and individual clients
• Provide tax guidance and planning to clients
• Manage a book of business and client relationships
• Conduct tax research and provide recommendations for tax planning and process improvements
• Supervise staff involved in return preparation
• Respond to client calls and emails in a timely manner
• Develop relationships with stakeholders, regulators, and industry groups
• Transfer tax knowledge and best practices within the firm
