Job summary

Position Imaging, Inc. in the Greater Portsmouth area is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to join a hybrid team. You will design, develop, and maintain Python, C++, and C software for computer vision and RF applications on Windows and Linux.

The role focuses on producing production-quality software, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering robust firmware and APIs. The position requires 3-5 years of experience, a BS (MS preferred), and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• :3-5 years of experience in building production-quality software.
• :BS degree required; MS preferred.
• Expert knowledge of Python, C++ and OO design principles.
• Experience with computer vision and RF algorithms; OpenCV, PCL, Libserial.
• Experience with Windows DLLs, Win32 and Linux shared libraries.
• Embedded systems and lower-level code experience a bonus.
• Proficient with GitLab, JIRA, CI/CD and embedded toolchains.
• Strong communication and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Fluent English and good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• :Develop, optimize and maintain Python and C++ code for computer vision algorithms, RF/wireless communications, and embedded firmware.
• :Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design Python and C++ solutions.
• :Unit test and integrate code changes into the codebase.
• :Troubleshoot and fix bugs and defects.
• :Create documentation for APIs, architecture, builds and releases.
• :Leverage GitLab for version control and CI/CD deployments.
• :Adhere to coding standards and best practices.
