Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) offers a Summer Internship Program designed to develop IT talent through hands-on work on enterprise projects across the country. The 10-week, full-time internship emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and professional development with opportunities to interact with GDIT leaders.

Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in IT or CS, and should be prepared to contribute to research, design, and testing of enterprise systems

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program in Information Technology, computer science, or similar.
• Ability to actively collaborate with others.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
• Ability to manage projects and prioritize competing requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, designing, developing, and/or modifying enterprise-wide or customer systems.
• Assist in performing systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Assist in testing, diagnosing, and fixing incidents.
• Participates in large system and subsystem planning.
• Help ensure that applications and systems are compliant with established quality standards and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Supports the completion of technical tasks.
• Assists with the solutions to technical problems of limited scope.
• Assists with the coordination for new products, software, upgrades, and equipment.
• Assists with documentation for processes and procedure related to computer systems and operations.
