Job summary

Viridien is seeking a Graphical Software Developer to build visualization tools for subsurface imaging. You’ll contribute to frontend and backend components, enabling scientists to explore complex 3D data.

The role offers hybrid work in Houston with opportunities to work on scalable, cross-disciplinary software in a global team. Requires a Master’s degree in CS or related field (or equivalent), strong C++ in large codebases, and experience with Qt, CMake, and debugging native apps.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with strong programming experience, or equivalent hands-on work experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ and large native codebases.
• Familiarity with Qt or similar desktop GUI frameworks.
• Understanding of OO design, API design, and maintainable C++ interfaces.
• Experience debugging native apps and investigating crashes/memory issues/perf bottlenecks.
• Familiarity with CMake/build systems and software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software tools and core components for subsurface imaging platforms.
• Contribute to backend systems, data handling, UI features, and 3D visualization tech.
• Support build, test, and release processes for production software.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions.
• Debug, optimize, and improve performance and scalability of applications.
• Participate in design discussions and guide technical decisions.
