Job summary

Honeywell International Inc. in Houston, TX, seeks a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead end-to-end sourcing and supplier management for engineered gas skid and station solutions, collaborating with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Finance, and Operations to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-efficient equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in related field.
• 6+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or project supply chain for engineered equipment.
• Experience managing full sourcing and contracting lifecycle for complex engineered-to-order equipment.
• Knowledge of supplier qualification, competitive bidding, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to interpret technical specs and project schedules.
• Strong commercial judgment, analytics, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to influence suppliers and stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to report to executives.
• Willingness to travel to supplier, fabrication, and project locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute project and category sourcing strategies for gas skids and related equipment.
• Lead full sourcing lifecycle: market analysis, supplier ID, RFI/RFQ, bid evaluation, negotiation, contracting.
• Partner with Center of Excellence to leverage enterprise agreements and preferred suppliers.
• Establish strategic relationships with fabricators, equipment manufacturers, and service providers.
• Align project demand, release dates, capacity, lead times, and logistics with milestones.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, warranties, and change-order mechanisms while managing risk.
• Assess supplier health, capacity, quality, and continuity risks; create mitigation plans.
• Define and monitor supplier performance scorecards for quality and delivery.
• Support bid evaluations and ensure compliance with specs, codes, and testing.
• Coordinate execution through design reviews, fabrication, inspection, FAT, shipment, and commissioning.
• Lead issue resolution, recovery planning, and claims management to protect schedule and margin.
• Drive value engineering, standardization, and productivity without compromising safety.
• Maintain sourcing plans, forecasts, cost estimates, and executive updates.
