Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Stormwater Engineer to lead water resources, stormwater, and natural resources projects from our Arlington, VA office. The role blends project management with technical leadership for municipal, state, and federal programs, delivering design, analysis, and construction support.

You will mentor mid- and junior staff, develop project proposals, and manage client relationships across Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field required.
• Professional engineering license in VA or ability to obtain within six months.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam or equivalent.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to nature of work.
• Stormwater experience essential for project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a project and technical manager for stormwater planning, design, and implementation.
• Lead preparation of project proposals and agreements.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in preparation of design/construction drawings and documents for stormwater infrastructure.
• Provide technical direction and quality review per AECOM standards.
• Prepare, review, and seal design documents as a licensed professional engineer in Virginia.
• Provide bid and construction phase services for diverse clients.
• Coordinate with clients through meetings and communications.
• Develop new client relationships and lead Virginia, Maryland, and NC business development.
• Mentor mid- and junior-level staff and support SOQ/RFP processes.
• Attend regulatory meetings and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
