Job summary

Vanderbilt University Information Technology seeks a Senior Storage Administrator to oversee SAN/NAS and cloud storage, ensuring security, reliability, and compliance across environments. You will collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams to support research and administrative workloads.

The role involves implementing service patterns, maintaining baselines, and driving continuous improvement while mentoring colleagues and coordinating with vendors on hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of progressive storage administration experience.
• Experience with SAN/NAS, clustering, and cloud storage platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of SAN, NAS, and cloud storage platforms.
• Maintain configuration standards, runbooks, and updates.
• Perform health checks, firmware/code validation, and maintenance windows.
• Maintain asset inventories and storage mappings.
• Monitor health; lead root-cause investigations for incidents.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and backup validation.
• Provide advanced support to cross-functional teams; mentor staff.
