Job summary

Brixmor Property Group is seeking a Portfolio Accountant to join the Portfolio Accounting team. You will analyze drivers of the company’s operational results, evaluate NOI, bad debt and net recoveries, and prepare reports for Executive Management.

You will prepare month-end journal entries, schedules and reconciliations, support quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, and contribute to process improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with formulas and PivotTables.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with urgency and attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset and solutions-oriented approach.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drivers behind the company’s operational results.
• Assist in monthly results packages for Senior Management.
• Prepare journal entries to support month-end close.
• Prepare detailed schedules and reconciliations for internal/external statements.
• Review monthly rental revenue and straight-line rental income.
• Assist in quarterly NOI forecasts and annual budgets.
• Review consultant valuation data and tax information to support tax strategies.
• Review acquisition valuation reports for purchase accounting.
• Assist in monthly bad debt reports and AR reserves.
• Undertake ad hoc tasks or special projects as assigned.
