GrowNYC is seeking a Sourcing Lead, Supply Chain & Compliance to manage vendor compliance across 50+ suppliers, and to optimize the procurement of non-harvest inventory while maintaining year-round product availability.

The role requires independent vendor assessment, cross-functional collaboration, and experience with certifications such as GAP, organic, and food safety. The position is hybrid with 3 days at the Bronx Food Hub and 2 remote days, with regular travel to farms in the Northeast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
• Minimum 3 years of procurement/supply chain or vendor compliance experience.
• Experience with food safety regulations, organic certification, and agricultural compliance.
• Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Experience processing purchase orders and handling confidential financial information.
• Proficiency with ERP, spreadsheets, and databases; Airtable a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and risk mitigation capability.
• Detail-oriented with multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication for vendor negotiations and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive compliance database for all vendors (50+).
• Procure non-harvest inventory (dry goods, pantry, dairy, proteins, prepared foods).
• Ensure vendors hold current certifications and conduct quarterly audits.
• Create purchase orders and manage stock levels; coordinate with warehouse.
• Provide backup coverage for harvest-to-order processes during absences.
• Handle POs exceeding $10,000 and manage confidential financial information.
