Job summary

Paces is seeking a software engineer to join our growing team in Brooklyn, focused on building AI-powered infrastructure for climate-positive energy projects. You will work closely with power and permitting experts to automate complex workflows, deploy AI agents, and scale our data-intensive platform.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in data-heavy software, strong Python/SQL skills, and a bias toward action in fast-moving startups, with a passion for fighting climate change.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building data-intensive software.
• Experience deploying AI agents in production environments; familiar with Agent SDK, Messages API, LangGraph.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; comfortable across backend, ETL, DB, and infra.
• Strong problem-solving skills; able to work independently and in teams.
• Able to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Gain domain knowledge and build AI agents to automate human-driven work.
• Build automation to unlock new modeling capabilities that change the market.
• Own projects and collaborate with industry experts on end-to-end features.
• Scale the platform to support growing traffic.
