Job summary

Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland is accepting applications for an Adjunct Faculty Pool - Sociology. Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class.

Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. A strong preference for someone who can provide instruction for day and evening courses at our Athens location.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Sociology from a regionally accredited institution or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in related fields.
Three years teaching experience preferred.
Experience with hybrid, online, interactive delivery modes recommended.

Responsibilities

Plan and teach classes as assigned and per course outlines and departmental guidelines.
Begin and end classes as scheduled and cover learning outcomes.
Maintain academic standards and classroom behavior to foster learning; communicate weekly with students.
Evaluate students using varied methods and report scores in a timely manner.
Use Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and respond to student questions accordingly.
Meet deadlines for paperwork, contracts, reports, and final grades.
Submit requests for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and instructional aids through the department chair.
