Job summary

KQED Inc. is seeking a Social Video Producer to craft original vertical video stories for our social and digital platforms.

You will work with the Newsroom and the Manager, Video Content Development to develop concepts, scripts, and scalable formats for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. The role requires experience in journalism, strong storytelling, and an ability to manage shoots with field audio, directing talent, and collaborating with editors to deliver polished pieces on a tight

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of professional journalism or multimedia production experience.
Experience developing vertical video content for mobile/social platforms.
Ability to produce one-person or small-crew shoots and direct on-camera talent.

Responsibilities

Identify, develop, and produce original vertical video stories for social platforms.
Develop repeatable vertical formats for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts.
Shoot and edit with field audio in fast-paced newsroom environments.
Collaborate with reporters, editors, editors, and audience development to optimize formats.
Lead production workflows ensuring editorial standards and legal compliance.
