Job summary

Ambience is seeking a Controller to build a scalable, best-in-class accounting function. You will own the monthly close, internal controls, policy, tax compliance, treasury, and Ambience’s external audit.

This hands-on role partners with the VP Finance to shape financial strategy and provide a senior accounting voice across the company. Based in or willing to relocate to the SF Bay Area for a hybrid in-office structure, you will lead a high-growth finance team, drive systems and process

Qualifications

• CPA required with strong U.S. GAAP experience.
• Proven track record leading external audits and internal controls.
• Experience building scalable close processes and ERP systems.
• Excellent cross-functional communication to leadership and Board.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close, internal controls, accounting policy, tax compliance, treasury, and compliance.
• Lead Ambience's external audit and manage relationships with auditors.
• Establish core accounting policies including ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Own multi-state SaaS tax nexus, filings, and external tax advisor liaison.
• Oversee treasury operations and cash management, with bank relationships.
• Evaluate accounting systems and automate processes to streamline order-to-cash.
• Build and lead the accounting team and manage the outsourced partner.
• Partner with Finance and Operations on variance analysis and MD&A.
