Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. in Salt Lake City seeks a Senior Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end delivery of strategic IT programs across Corporate Infrastructure, Applications, Development, Security, and Compliance.

You will partner with stakeholders, define scope, plans, and governance, and report benefits to executives. The role requires 8+ years of experience, a technical background, and a proven track record in managing external providers and large-scale enterprise initiatives.

Qualifications

• Eight years of relevant IT program experience and a bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager in an IT organization.
• Strong technical background to credibly evaluate risks and issues.
• Experience delivering Enterprise Applications projects or programs.
• Experience managing external implementation providers.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills with strong presentation abilities.
• Proven track record of stakeholder management and communicating with senior leadership and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead program definition, planning, scope, and execution, and monitor health to mitigate risks.
• Define integrated program plans and deliverables for success.
• Identify dependencies among programs and size/lead transformation opportunities.
• Drive stakeholder alignment and report status to executives and governance forums.
• Work independently in ambiguous contexts to create clear paths forward for teams.
• Apply PMO best-practices to improve processes.
