Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid). The role leads complex US GAAP accounting research and advises stakeholders, with two accounting staff reporting to you. Compensation ranges from $130,000 to $160,000 base plus annual bonus; direct-hire role with local candidates preferred.

You will partner with cross-functional teams and influence accounting policy while guiding a high-visibility corporate accounting function.

Qualifications

Seven+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least two years in public accounting.
CPA certification required or actively pursuing CPA.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP with SEC/public company reporting exposure.
Experience with M&A and purchase accounting including business combinations.

Responsibilities

Lead technical accounting research across revenue recognition, debt transactions, business combinations, impairment, leases, and other US GAAP matters.
Prepare and review technical memos, position papers, accounting policies, and supporting docs.
Support acquisition accounting and complex transactions, including purchase accounting and balance sheet assessments.
Interpret new accounting standards and communicate conclusions to accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
Partner with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, SEC Reporting, and other teams.
