Job summary

PEAC Solutions in Herndon, VA is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to manage complex reconciliations, month-end close, and receivable activities while serving as a technical resource in the accounting department. The role emphasizes accuracy, proactive analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will analyze customer account activity, prepare journal entries and schedules, support audits, and drive process improvements in a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Two or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience with receivable or payment operations preferred.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP experience.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Analyze customer account activity and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with payment processing and customer receivable accounting activities.
• Prepare reports and analysis for management.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Recommend process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide guidance and support to the accounting team members.
• Participate in departmental and cross-functional projects.
