Job summary
PG&E seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineer to oversee all aspects of System and Substation Protection and Control, and Remedial Action Schemes. You will specify, design, and apply protective relay packages for reliable operation of 500kV transmission and distribution systems, while maintaining documentation and audits.
The role is hybrid, with ~2 days/week at the San Ramon office. Minimum includes a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 9 years of system protection experience; a Master's, PE
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 9 years of experience in system protection.
Responsibilities
- Searches and discovers practical solutions to highly complex problems.
- Identifies and implements opportunities to improve company performance via system protection.
- Documents processes and technical specifications for protection schemes.
- Manages multiple internal and external clients and provides second-tier support.
- Plans, architects and designs complete protection systems.
- Acts as SME in protection areas and mentors less senior engineers.
