Job summary

NXTKey Corporation is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain high-performance networks for NIH/NLM at NIH‑NCBI in Bethesda, MD with some remote work. You will lead initiatives using Spine‑and‑Leaf, VxLAN, EVPN, and BGP, automating tasks with Python, and guiding modernization of legacy infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in network engineering, strong Arista EOS/CloudVision and F5 BIG-IP experience, and a CCIE or similar certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering.
• Strong experience with Arista EOS/CloudVision and F5 BIG-IP.
• Expertise in BGP, OSPF, VxLAN, EVPN.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and network automation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Architect and Deploy: design high-performance network architectures (Spine-and-Leaf).
• Master Arista EOS/CloudVision and CloudVision platform.
• Manage F5 BIG-IP platforms, including virtual servers, pools, and iRules.
• Automate network management with Python and Linux tools.
• Lead technical team members and act as SME for network issues.
• Modernize legacy networks for cloud-native environments and provide expert support.
• Implement load balancing strategies for high availability.
• Configure and manage Arista and F5 device clusters for failover.
