Job summary

John Hancock Life Insurance Company (USA) seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Boston. Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. Lead ML model development, deployment, and monitoring for insurance analytics projects.

You will collaborate with data scientists/engineers to build scalable pipelines, leverage MLOps/LLMOps, and advance Generative AI initiatives within a regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of ML experience with model training, evaluation, deployment via APIs/microservices.
  • Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras, XGBoost.

Responsibilities

  • Package models, automate workflows and operationalize analytics in insurance domain.
  • Design and implement ML platforms and infrastructure following MLOps/LLMOps best practices.
  • Deploy ML models to production and monitor performance.
