Job summary

CNH is seeking a Data Interface Senior Software Engineer in the Oak Brook area to join our embedded software team. You will develop Data Interface/Data Transfer CRUD functionalities on CNH’s next-generation controllers for tractors, sprayers, and harvesters, contributing to a broad set of features.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software, proficiency in Java, C/C++, Android, and Linux, and leadership in software development across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience designing & developing embedded systems from concept to release.
• Experience in Electrical and/or Software Engineering performing analysis, design, and testing for embedded software projects.
• Experience with Java, C/C++ and Android programming languages.
• Demonstrated experience with full stack embedded software development.
• Experience with Linux OS.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack embedded software components, ensuring reliable integration between hardware, operating systems, and application layers.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineering teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver complete solutions.
• Perform software testing, debugging, code reviews, and root cause analysis to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Develop and maintain Linux-based software components and development environments.
• Drive software projects through the full development lifecycle, from concept and architecture through release and post-release support.
• Contribute to technical planning, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and product quality.
• Support field investigations, customer issue resolution, and product validation activities as needed.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the Data Files development team.
• Lead the analysis, design, implementation, and validation of embedded software solutions for data file management and processing.
• Develop and maintain software using Java, C/C++, and Android technologies to support product functionality and performance requirements.
