Job summary

Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Security in Lakewood, CO to design and deliver cybersecurity-enabled software for safety-critical medical devices. You will implement secure boot, secure updates, and cryptographic capabilities while collaborating with Product Security and R&D teams.

The role requires strong C++ skills, embedded OS experience (VxWorks/Linux), and a proven track record shipping embedded software in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of hands-on software development in regulated/safety-critical environments.
• Experience implementing cybersecurity controls (auth, encryption, secure communications, access control).
• Proven track record shipping embedded software in resource-constrained environments.
• Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver embedded solutions.
• Familiar with Secure SDLC, threat modeling, and cybersecurity documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cybersecurity-enabled software for safety-critical medical devices.
• Implement secure boot, secure update, software integrity, and trusted execution concepts.
• Collaborate with Product Security and R&D Cybersecurity teams to translate requirements into implementations.
• Develop automated tests and contribute to engineering deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews and maintain coding standards.
• Troubleshoot system-level issues and support product field issues.
