Merck & Co. in Rahway, NJ seeks a Senior Director, Clinical Science, Oncology Early Development to lead strategic clinical science for novel assets from candidate transition through first-in-human and clinical proof-of-concept.

You will shape development plans, data-driven decisions, and translational strategies across early oncology programs. The role integrates PK/PD, biomarkers, safety, and external data to inform dose escalation, cohort expansion, and indication strategy.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific training with 8+ years in pharma or clinical drug development.
• Experience leading first-in-human and early oncology studies with dose escalation and PoC planning.
• Strong leadership in cross-functional, matrix environments with influence at senior levels.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic Clinical Science leadership across Oncology Early Development.
• Guide study design, data interpretation, and portfolio decision-making.
• Standardize practices and drive scientific rigor across assets and programs.
• Lead biomarker strategy, translational evidence, and external data integration.
• Foster collaboration with Operations, Regulatory, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs and other partners.
