Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a Data Scientist to support analytic solutions for clients across financial services, fraud, insurance and marketing. The role involves building predictive models, leading client engagements, and delivering value-added analytics in a hybrid work setting with both virtual and in-office duties.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design and test data extraction and analysis programs using R, Python, SQL, Hive, and Spark, and present insights to diverse client

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, or other highly quantitative field; or a Bachelor’s with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• 1+ year in client-facing roles with analytic work; industries may include financial services, fraud, or marketing.
• Advanced programming skills; proficiency with R or Python; experience with SQL, C/C++, Java, Ab Initio; platforms including Hive and Spark; strong MS Office.
• Proven ability to work under modest supervision in a complex environment.
• Familiarity with credit bureau data and related solutions.
• Experience in industries served by TransUnion is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop predictive models and BI solutions of moderate scope for TransUnion clients.
• Lead analytic client engagements involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses.
• Own projects from design through implementation and audit.
• Develop proposals, sales presentations and collateral to promote analytic products.
• Coordinate with Sales and business units to provide analytic perspectives.
