Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to own analytics tasks and lead end-to-end AI/ML use cases with guidance from leadership. You will drive insights across business domains, gather and prepare data, and build scalable ML models, mentoring teammates as needed.

You will work in a hybrid setup with strong emphasis on collaboration, data visualization, and effective communication of insights to senior leaders. Strong Python/SQL/PySpark/Scala skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience in analytics and data mining.
• Experience in advanced analytics/predictive modelling, statistics, or data mining.
• Experience with 3rd party B2B data such as firmographics, contact details, technographics, and buyer intent signals.
• Experience utilizing GenAI/LLM tools to accelerate software delivery and development velocity.
• Experience with end-to-end Analytics projects (Ingestion, Munging, Model Building, Validation, Operationalization, Monitoring).
• Experience building models using statistical techniques such as Supervised and Unsupervised ML, Deep learning, Text classification.

Responsibilities

• Drive data-derived insights across the business domain by developing advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms and computational algorithms based on business initiatives.
• Direct the gathering of data, assessing data validity and synthesizing data into large analytics datasets to support project goals.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data using data mining/statistical/machine learning/deep learning tools, Data visualization, Digital/Web analytics tools and techniques and storytelling.
• Build and train statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
• Perform tasks related to Operationalization - eg. wrapper script, REST service, Trigger, Monitoring etc.
• Prepare all the supporting documents and reports.
• Mentor/Guiding one to two members in the team on technical aspects as needed.
