Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a talented professional to advance protein design and computational biology workfows across design-make-test cycles. You will refine models, operate an inference platform, and develop robust protocols for liquid handlers and screening systems.

You will perform BLI/SPR assays, analyze kinetics, and troubleshoot results while supporting customers through the adoption process and technical outreach. Hybrid role based in New York area.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building or operating protein design, language, or structure prediction systems in a design-make-test workflow.
• 3+ years in biotech or life sciences software GTM, solutions engineering, or customer success, converting free users to paid offerings.
• Hands-on experience writing production methods for Hamilton, Tecan, Opentrons, or equivalent liquid handlers.
• Hands-on experience designing BLI or SPR assays, fitting kinetic curves, and troubleshooting assay results.
• Experience with tools like ESM, ProtT5, RFdiffusion, BindCraft, plus Python for automation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Refine discrete diffusion, protein language, and structure prediction models and redesign workflows.
• Operate and improve a scientific inference platform and analyze usage patterns.
• Write, debug, and deploy protocols for liquid-handling robots and manage screening instrumentation.
• Run BLI or SPR assays end-to-end from design to kinetic fitting and QC.
• Diagnose experimental and computational failure modes and iterate on improved candidates.
• Support scientific users and customer adoption with accurate outreach and understanding of biotech buying processes.
