HMSA is seeking a financial accounting professional on Oahu in a full-time, exempt role with a hybrid work environment. The position offers a pay range of $59,000 to $116,000 and eligibility for an incentive bonus.

The incumbent will support monthly close, maintain subsidiary ledgers, and assist audits across HMSA and its subsidiaries. The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of related experience (or equivalent) and strong GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with three years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Accounting skills: Demonstrated ability to properly record financial transactions and prepare financial statements.
• Presentation skills: Strong oral and written skills for presentation to Executive staff.
• Financial skills: Demonstrated ability to prepare financial analyses.
• Project management skills: Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex projects and assignments with formatted output, narrative, and data interpretation.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Database manipulation software familiarity or relevant experience with data entry.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsabilités

• Ensures proper recordation and reporting of various financial transactions for the Association and its Subsidiaries.
• Prepare and post accruals for various general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
• Record and analyze accounting transactions for various contracts or programs.
• Assist and serve as a primary back-up to record transactions and prepare financial statements for HMSA's subsidiaries.
• Maintaining various schedules and ledgers for the Association's general ledger accounts.
• Create and run ad-hoc system reports to summarize transactions in the general ledger.
• Lead, coordinate, and participate in projects; act as project manager for business and system projects.
