Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Sr Tax Consultant in a hybrid role based in New Jersey. You’ll work with a 3rd party outsourcer to file state and local taxes, perform data analysis, reconciliations, and support SOX controls, impacting financial reporting.

Requirements include 4+ years in tax, reconciliations, SAP, Vertex, Alteryx, Excel/Power Query, and state/local tax experience. Hybrid work with a defined office schedule provided by management.

Responsibilities

• Leading complex Tax projects.
• Ensuring the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Identifying and driving implementation of process improvement opportunities for Tax, working with internal teams or service providers.
• Handling notice resolution.
• Leading SOX compliance efforts and controls.
• Reconciling large data sets using Excel, Power Query and Alteryx.
• Reconciling tax liability accounts.
• Ensuring filings are accurate and timely per laws and regulations.
• Preparing payments and managing liabilities related to tax returns.
• Assisting with audits, data analytics, budgets, cash forecasting and monthly reports.
• Conducting research on legislative changes and implementing best practices.
• Focusing on process improvements and streamlining procedures.
