Job summary

Bird in Solon, OH seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead embedded software and firmware for RF measurement products. This onsite role offers a hybrid pattern (about 30% remote, 70% onsite) and requires guiding architecture, verification, and lifecycle support.

You will mentor engineers, drive technical direction, oversee requirements, and collaborate with systems, RF, FPGA, and hardware teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in computer engineering, CS, EE or related field.
• Extensive experience in embedded software/firmware development.
• Strong leadership and ability to guide architecture and risks.
• Experience working across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Guide embedded software and firmware architecture for new products.
• Translate product needs into software requirements, interfaces and criteria.
• Lead technical trade studies and design reviews.
• Develop engineers' capabilities in architecture and testing.
• Ensure development, verification, and lifecycle practices.
