Job summary

The Water Center at Penn is seeking a Research Specialist C to lead applied research and policy initiatives in water systems and watersheds. Reporting to the Director of Applied Research and Policy, you will design projects, produce analytical deliverables, and translate complex water topics for diverse stakeholders.

Graduate-level training or equivalent expertise in environmental policy, water resources, or environmental studies is required. The role is hybrid with three days in offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience in environmental policy, water resources, or environmental studies.
• Experience conducting applied research and translating findings for policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead applied research projects from design to delivery, including reports and surveys.
• Analyze data and evaluate policies across drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater.
• Translate research into strategic communications for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Penn partners and external stakeholders.
• Present findings to stakeholders.
