Job summary

The University of Chicago’s Development Innovation Lab seeks a Research & Policy Manager to oversee a growing portfolio of agricultural research projects from inception to completion and translate insights into actionable policy recommendations and scaling initiatives.

The role requires expertise in development economics, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with diverse teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics or related field.
• 5–7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• Experience leading or contributing to policy-relevant research.

Responsibilities

• Manage external partnerships to conduct new research and scale innovations in agriculture and food security.
• Develop and manage research projects from inception to completion.
• Oversee research output and allocate tasks among staff.
• Maintain relationships with partners, funders and collaborators.
• Prepare materials for policy makers and coordinate messaging across stakeholders.
