Job summary

Teal Health is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the data warehouse, pipelines, and semantic layer that powers decision-making. You will manage ingestion via Fivetran, develop dbt transformations, and ensure reliable, analysis-ready data across AWS, HubSpot, PostHog, and marketing platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, including owning a production data warehouse.
• Strong SQL, including window functions, date logic, and complex joins across marketing, product, and operational data.
• Fluency in PostgreSQL/Redshift/Snowflake-style SQL.
• Hands-on experience with dbt-core: models, sources, configurations, Jinja templating, macros, tests and docs.
• Experience designing and developing a data warehouse with a layered staging → reporting architecture.
• Experience with Fivetran-landed data and sources like HubSpot, PostHog, AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own Teal's data warehouse architecture, performance, reliability, and documentation.
• Manage and extend Fivetran ingestion across source systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Build and maintain the dbt transformation layer from raw sources to business-ready models.
• Own the Omni data layer and define relationships for cross-system queries.
• Partner with analytics to ensure dashboards sit on an accurate data layer.
• Assist with integrations, data source connections, and partner data flows.
• Write tests and docs in dbt to ensure trust in warehouse contents.
• Set standards for data modeling, testing, and documentation.
