Job summary

Flatirons Solutions Corp. is hiring an entry-level or associate-level DevOps Engineer in Hosting Operations in Boulder, CO. You will help run and improve infrastructure behind customers’ systems, including Linux/Windows administration, automation, and moving toward containers.

Mentorship and growth opportunities are provided as you work with senior engineers. You will be part of on-call rotations, document processes, and contribute to security patching, high availability, and cluster management

Qualifications

Entry-level or associate DevOps Engineer role.
0-2 years in IT support or related role.
Foundational Linux administration with CLI and basic editors (vi/vim).
Familiarity with containers (Docker, Docker Swarm, Podman).
Windows administration basics for common tasks.
Bash/Shell scripting basics.
Exposure to VMware/vCenter and virtual machine operations.
Understanding of patching, vulnerability remediation, and access management.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools (Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible).
Interest in learning load balancing and cluster-management tools (HAProxy, Patroni).
Familiarity with Jira/Kanban or similar ticketing tools.
Comfort with AI-assisted automation and documentation.
Kubernetes exposure is a plus.
Familiarity with backup/recovery tools (Veeam, Zerto) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Keep Linux and Windows systems healthy, including services, access, networking, and logs.
Apply security patches and mitigations on a recurring schedule so systems stay in compliance.
Build and maintain operational automation.
Support highly available services and database clusters.
Operate virtualized infrastructure and help move services toward containers.
Support backup and snapshot workflows, including how a restore is done.
Use AI to assist with automation, scripting, troubleshooting, and architecture, and turn that assistance into reviewed, workable changes.
Track your work in Jira on a Kanban board so status stays clear for the team.
Write clear, concise documentation so another engineer can walk into an environment and understand how it is built, operated, and recovered.
Partner with engineers on releases and incidents.
Will be a member of an on-call rotation for out-of-hours support.
Other duties as may be assigned.
