Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc. seeks a Relay Settings Engineer (EIT 2) with protective relay experience for transmission and distribution systems. The role focuses on substation and protection and control engineering with up to 500kV projects, offering hybrid or fully remote work options.

You will develop protective relay settings, perform studies using specialized software, interpret schematics, and mentor junior staff while managing multiple projects with flexible deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience.
• Passed FE exam and earned EIT/EI certification.
• B.S. or M.S. Engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop protective relay settings for microprocessor relays including SEL, GE, ABB for transmission lines and substations.
• Conduct short circuit analysis and relay coordination studies.
• Utilize Aspen OneLiner and/or PSS CAPE for studies.
• Use SEL AcSELerator Quickset and GE EnerVista software.
• Interpret schematics and wiring diagrams and prepare relay logic to implement schemes.
• Mentor and manage staff at all levels.
• Manage tasks on multiple projects with high standards of PM.
• Adapt to shifting deadlines and scope changes.
• Identify project barriers and mitigate schedule impacts.
