Job summary

San Diego Community Power is seeking a Rates Analyst to join our analytics team. You will help develop rate structures for electric service and support the transition to dynamic rates and large-load designs.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders on data-driven financial planning, forecasting, and service design, delivering concise staff reports and presentations to leadership and public meetings.

Qualifications

• Understanding rate design principles and cost of service accounting.
• Advanced MS Excel; familiarity with SQL, R, Python; BI platforms like PowerBI/Tableau.
• Experience with statistical modeling and data analysis.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with cross-functional teams and presenting to boards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update Community Power rates per policy.
• Perform rate comparisons and analysis for customers.
• Design analytical solutions for rate design and expansion.
• Deliver statistical studies on revenue requirements and charges.
• Use data modeling to support strategic rate design decisions.
• Monitor other LSEs rate design.
• Write staff reports and present to Board and advisory committees.
• Improve technical processes to meet business needs.
• Perform other related duties as required.
