Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Junior Public Engagement & Outreach Analyst to support planning and delivery of inclusive engagement for electric transmission projects. You will build relationships with communities, landowners, and officials throughout planning, permitting, construction, and closeout.

You will work across engineering, regulatory, real estate, and stakeholder engagement teams to promote accessible, equitable engagement practices while documenting feedback in databases and logs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, public policy, environmental studies, planning, political science, community development, or related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, community relations, or communications.
• Ability to translate technical project information into clear language for diverse audiences.
• Strong research, organization, writing, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with stakeholder relationship databases or GIS-based outreach tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25% for site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach using established scripts, templates, and engagement protocols.
• Maintain stakeholder databases, action-item trackers, and comment logs.
• Participate in meetings with landowners, communities, agencies, and public officials.
• Apply guidance to identify questions, issues, and commitments requiring escalation.
• Develop foundational knowledge of transmission projects, permitting processes, and community engagement practices.
