Job summary

GFT seeks a Project Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Practice in a hybrid role, requiring attendance at our Audubon, PA office. Responsibilities include field surveys, regulatory reviews, and NEPA documentation for infrastructure projects.

You will perform wetland delineations, data analysis, and environmental deliverables, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams while traveling as needed. Master’s degree preferred; strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, the physical sciences, or closely related field.
• Minimum 6–10 years of experience delivering natural resources compliance services for infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of applicable federal and state environmental regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel and work in varied settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite oversight of stream restoration construction several days a week to ensure plans are properly implemented.
• Provide environmental technical support for disturbances in wetlands, streams, and protected habitats for permitting.
• Conduct wetland delineation fieldwork and other natural resource surveys.
• Deliver professional services on time per local, state, and federal regulations and budgets.
• Author technical reports and NEPA documents for transportation projects.
• Communicate with clients and regulators on project status and compliance.
