Job summary

Liberty University is seeking a Business Analyst to develop a deep understanding of the University’s spending patterns and to communicate insights to stakeholders across departments. The role analyzes expense transactions to provide data-driven intelligence supporting strategic decisions and procurement strategies aligned with Liberty’s goals.

The candidate will work with the Director of Procurement Technology Services to identify trends, create dashboards, and train stakeholders in procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Analytics, Business; significant additional experience may substitute.
• Two-to-four years of professional experience in business analytics, budgeting, accounting and/or financial analysis
• Experience with databases and large datasets and its application to business strategy.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to produce thorough, precise work while effectively prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
• Working knowledge of procurement and source-to-pay software systems.
• Well-developed reasoning, communication, and customer service skills.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office software, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to articulate and defend the Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University.
• Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan.
• Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, crimes involving government funds.

Responsibilities

• Collects, organizes, and analyzes transactional spend data from multiple systems.
• Develop and deliver dashboards, reports, and visualizations based on requests.
• Creates an organizational spend map with key spend characteristics.
• Assist with KPI, RFI, Strategic Plan, Health Check, and executive reporting requests.
• Categorize transactions to summarize spend by key characteristics.
• Summarizes analysis into reports and communicates results to stakeholders.
• Trains and supports stakeholders in procurement reporting systems.
• Contributes to supplier rationalization decisions based on spend analysis.
• Assist in establishing procurement analytics strategies based on data insights and trends.
• Provide ad-hoc spend analysis and present findings to leadership.
• Pursue automation of data processing and develop procurement analytics tools.
• Develops technical understanding of procurement systems in use.
• Collaborate with IT/ADS/BuyLU on data requests and changes.
• Responsible for analytics modules within procurement systems.
• Support implementation and maintenance of procurement analytics tools.
